Job Description
NewCardio is looking for a Director of Business Development to expand the company's Business Development activities. The purpose of this position is to generate sales leads, attain customer acceptance and drive corporate revenue generation. The Director of Business Development will be working with directly with Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Contract Research Organizations, ECG Core Laboratories and Clinical Phase I Units. This person will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with and be supported by the NewCardio operational and scientific teams.
The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in the clinical trial industry selling services to drug program directors at pharmaceutical and biotech companies. We are looking for a self starter who is focused, energetic and competitive and has a successful track record within the industry.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and arrange sales meetings with potential customers and external sales partners.
  • Leverage existing contacts within the industry to generate new leads.
  • Work with external sales partners in identifying specific opportunities and then preparing proposals to win those opportunities.
  • Manage the customer relationships helping generate additional future sales.
  • Assist in the contract signing process with our external sales partners and assist those partners with contracts with their customers.
  • Identify the need for and then assist in the development of marketing materials. Participate in marketing activities including industry conferences and corporate sponsored events.

Experience Required

  • As least 5 years of experience in a Business Development role in the clinical trial industry selling to clinical trial directors and drug safety physicians
  • Direct experience working for a Contract Research Organization or an ECG Core Lab a plus
  • Ability to travel globally at least 40% of the time
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed within a small startup organization
  • Comfortable in working from a home office for a small yet focused organization
